By their fruits they are revealed

The fruits of Spirit are unblemished.  They are love and joy.  They bring peace to the hearts and minds of those within its sanctuary.  To know Spirit is to see with eyes unobstructed by the perceptions of the world, to hear with ears undistracted by the clamor of the self-righteous and self-satisfied.

Those wisest and most knowledgeable in the ways of the world are foolish in the ways of Spirit.  Those poor souls so easily duped and misled by the masters of money and commerce are uplifted by the gifts of Spirit.  Jesus told us that “those poor in Spirit will inherit Heaven.”  This often misunderstood statement declares that you cannot serve two masters.  You will be exalted in the material world or you will be humbled before the spiritual plane.

To enter into the Kingdom of Heaven we must be as little children.  Two young children placed in a room will join together in play.  One will not reject the other for reasons of religion, race, color, social status, family history, sex, or appearance.  Children openly enjoy the presence of others.  This  innocence is often lost through maturity.  The world tells us that we must reach a certain age before we are mature enough to decide the course of our life.  The world is filled with mature fools.

Where is the wisdom of Spirit to be found?  Spiritual leaders abound, proclaiming they hold the truth that will set you free.  Truth is love.  You are free in love.  Are you free to love?  Or have you been shamed away from love’s truth and joy?

The words of every man and woman disclose the truth within their heart.  Listen.  Do they speak of love?  Do they ask that you love, forgive, and have compassion for those different from yourself?  The false teacher declares their followers to be special, to be elevated above sinners and heathens.  False teachings proclaim the truth as they simultaneously denounce the false.

The blind man looks in all directions and sees nothing.  The little child looks in a single direction and sees her equal.  The path to God is straight and narrow.  The teachings of the world are crooked and vast.  The voice of Spirit is soft and gentle.  It demands nothing.  It asks for nothing.  It is love.  Let it in.
